New to MCP? MCP is a standard way to connect AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT to other apps. Once ORION is connected, your AI works in ORION directly instead of you learning how to use the tools and new interface.
ORION’s MCP server used to let your AI read your reports. Now it manages your account: it creates watches, edits them, organizes them, and runs checks.
The pattern was clear. People asked their AI what changed, then opened the dashboard to act on it. Now the AI does both.
What your AI can do now
Create page, API, uptime, WHOIS, tech stack, and HTML watches, plus RSS, sitemap, and JSON feeds
Edit the URL, check interval, CSS selector, or the sentence that tells ORION what to look for
Send alerts to Slack, Teams, Discord, Telegram, email, or a webhook, or switch to a daily digest
Add and remove tags, rename watches, and limit checks
Pause, resume, or remove watches (removal only when you ask)
Run a check on demand
Search change summaries and open the before and after text of any change
Five things to ask your AI today
Paste these into any AI assistant that supports MCP.
“Watch the pricing pages of these three competitors URLs (paste the urls). Alert me in Slack only when a plan price changes. Tag them competitors.”
“Set up uptime checks for our app, API, and checkout page every 5 minutes. Send failures to Teams.”
“Which of my watches haven’t found a change in 30 days? Pause them.”
“Move every watch tagged hiring to a daily email digest and skip weekends.”
“What changed on our suppliers’ sites this week? Show me the before and after for anything about lead times.”
Most accounts pile up watches nobody reads, and cleaning them up used to take an afternoon of clicking.
How to connect
Already connected for reading? The new tools appear the next time your AI reconnects.
New to it:
Copy the MCP connection details from your ORION integrations.
Add them to your AI tool: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other that supports MCP.
Ask: “List my ORION workspaces.” If you see your workspace names, you’re connected.
Try it on one real task
Pick the site you check by hand most often. Ask your AI to set up an ORION watch for it, with alerts going to the channel you already read.
