Point Second Brain at Your Documents Folder and Let It Run + Interactive Tour
The hard part of Second Brain was never the queries. It was the hour before them.
Your documents are not in one place. They are in a folders with a subfolder per client or project, three years of proposals somewhere else, and a Downloads folder you have been meaning to sort since 2023. Picking those out a hundred at a time is not a task anyone finishes. So the data never goes in.
Choose a folder, including everything inside it
There is a Choose folder button now. Pick your top-level folder and Second Brain walks every subfolder underneath and imports what it finds. Nothing to flatten first.
The ceiling for one batch is 100,000 files. I do not expect anyone to hit it. It is there so you stop thinking about the limit. Same for a zip: one zip, nested folders inside, same count. Each file up to 2048 MB. Picking files by hand is still capped at 100, since that path is for when you want three specific documents.
Formats: .docx, .pdf, .txt, .md, .rtf. A zip inside a zip or folder gets skipped.
What happens to them
Each file becomes an entry. The text splits into ordered sections, stored as rows and indexed for search. Tags go on at import, all of them searchable.
So a 40,000-file import is not 40,000 files Claude opens. Ask about a clause in a 2022 contract and it pulls the sections that mention it. How much you imported stops mattering, because you never load all of it.
A one-minute tour
The other thing people got stuck on was the first screen after install. Dashboard, Import, Contacts, Settings, Database maintenance, a connection to Claude, and none of it explains itself.
There is now a tour that walks you through the menus and what each does. About a minute, on the real interface, so by the end you have already touched the pages you will use.
